Basic Information

 

On this page you will find a list of presentations, workshops and professional development opportunities presented by Dr. Lou Whitaker.  First, there is a short description of each seminar.  All workshops and presentations will be adjusted to meet the specific needs of the participants. Each seminar is “custom made” for each situation.  Topics and length of presentations are designed in unison with the company, school, or group and the presenter.  

 

After the description of each presentation, is a list of times this particular workshop has been given, for example, “1 Hour, 2 Hours, or Half Day.”   The length in BOLD PRINT is suggested as the best format to have adequate time to cover all the material available for this particular subject. In this particular example, it is recommended that Dr. Whitaker would need two hours to adequately cover the material, however, if the school wanted more of an in-depth study, then they would choose the “Half Day” presentation.

 

For your convenience, the Common Core Standards and the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools are listed below according to each workshop. Just click on the button.  This information will be beneficial when applying for state and federal funding.  Also included with each workshop description is a list of the Essential Questions this particular workshop will address.  With many schools emphasizing Common Core State Standards, these questions are critical for verifying the students have a clear understanding of the purpose of the lesson.
